Zoom leaves Vancouverites stranded

I'm sure you've heard by now that Zoom airlines has gone under. I heard it this morning over breakfast, and immediately descended into panic, having a flight to Europe booked with Zoom, due to leave in 9 weeks. Fortunately for me, I was one of the lucky ones, and it looks like all I'll have to deal with is the hassle of waiting for a refund on my credit card. And thank goodness for Travelocity, where I was able to book a flight that will work with my country-hopping European trip for not too much more than I'd paid to Zoom.

Others were not so lucky. There are dozens of people stranded at YVR, waiting for information on how they'll get home to the UK, and many Vancouverites stranded on the other side of the pond.

At one point today, it sounded like there may be a bail-out possibility, but it seems even that is now gone, according to the Zoom web site.

If you have a flight booked from or to Vancouver with Zoom (or anywhere else Zoom flies), You should visit the Zoom web site for the latest information on what to do. At this point, they're directing customers to contact credit card companies for a refund.
