The Word on the Street festival bills itself as "Western Canada's largest celebration of words and reading."

Each year, Word on the Street is held on the last Sunday in September. That makes this years WOTS date September 28. The festival takes place in and around library square from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. The festival attracts about 35,000 visitors each year.

You can check out the main stage, or head to one of many other stages and displays, including the magazine life stage, poetry tent, authors tent, Canada Writes stage, kids' tent, and the Raise-a-Reader corner. Or you can check out book-making demos and writing talks.

It's a great festival for the whole family, with lots to keep the kids entertained. And best of all, admission is free! You can learn more at thewordonthestreet.ca.
