What Do You Think of the New Canucks Jersey?

vancouvercanucksjersey.jpg

Yesterday, at around 12:30pm inside GM Place, the Vancouver Canucks revealed their new RBK jerseys for the 2007-2008 season. It was designed to pay tribute to their past (the color scheme is the same as the jersey the organization used for its inaugural season), while at the same time pointing toward the present and the future (that's where the current orca logo comes into play). One of the most prominent features on the new jerseys is the word "Vancouver" stretched across the chest. Naslund's "C" seems sort of squished in the corner as a result.

Commenting on the new Vancouver Canucks jersey, I said:

As a whole, the new Vancouver Canucks jersey looks amatuer-ish and cheap. It’s like it’s for the minors or a children’s league, or something. If they wanted to keep the vintage color scheme — which was a good idea — they should have ditched the fat whale.

Darren Barefoot gives the new jersey a "meh":

Well, that’s a uniform designed by committee, isn’t it? How does that idiom go? Try to satisfy everyone, and you’ll satisfy no one.

It seems that the general consensus out there is a sense of disappointment with the odd blip of praise. Where does your reaction lie on the spectrum between bitter anger and utter glee?

All have been fugly since the 96-97 Jersey's. 96-97 was the best, by far.
