Vancouver's Jeremy Hof Wins Painting Competition

art.jpg

Vancouver is a city of culture. We've got Bard on the Beach. We've got the Jazz Festival. We get all sorts of wonderful performances at the Stanley and the Playhouse. And now we have an award-winning painter among us as well.

The winner of the 10th Annual RBC Painting Competition for emerging artists has been announced and it is none other than Jeremy Hof. You may not know Hof personally, but he is a fellow Vancourite, so we should show a little bit of municipal pride for his victory. He rakes in $25,000 in first prize money.

Honorable mentions, who each receive $15,000, are Amanda Reeves of Oakville, Ontario and Will Murray of Montreal, Quebec. Twelve semifinalists each received $7,500 for their efforts.
