Vancouver Officially Voted into Special Monopoly Game

monopolyvancouver.jpg

One of my favourite board games growing up involved the buying and selling of real estate, the collecting of rent, and winning a random beauty contest for $10. While names like Park Place and B&O Railroad have been household names for a number of decades, Hasbro is preparing a special international version of Monopoly that will feature some of the world's favourite cities.

As you may have heard, Vancouver was in the running for one of the slots on the board and, as luck would have it, Vancouver has officially been awarded a spot in the upcoming Monopoly game. Not that we'd expect any differently. Two other Canadian cities -- Toronto and Montreal -- also made the cut, as voted by Monopoly fans on the official website. In fact, Montreal gets the most expensive spot on the board, traditionally occupied by Boardwalk. Vancouver gets the spot you may know as New York Avenue.

There will be a total of 22 international cities featured in Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition. Other highlights include Beijing, London, and Paris.
