Vancouver International Jazz Festival Starts Today

jazzfest-frisell.jpg

Vancouver has a lot of festivals and we're home to a lot of concerts. While the more literature-loving bunch will be gathering at Bard on the Beach for the next few months, those of you who are more in love with saxophones and the like will be pleased to hear that the Vancouver International Jazz Festival kicks off today. Get ready for an incredible aural experience!

Starting today and running until Canada Day on July 1st (with a day off on June 30th for some reason), the Jazz Festival will entertain about half a million people over the course of the 400 concerts being planned for this year's festivities.

Among the highlights this year are Bill Frisell (pictured), Herbie Hancock, Ryan Shaw and Maceo Parker, Mose Allison, and the Dave Brubeck Quartet. For a full schedule, head on over to CoastalJazz.com.
