Vancouver International Dance Festival Leaps Into Spotlight

Vancouver is known for its variety of festivals and the event kicking off next week is no exception. The Vancouver International Dance Festival is set to begin on March 4th and will run until March 29th. Because 2008 is a leap year, the organizers have decided to use "Leap into Dance!" as the motto for this year's dance fest.

The opening night gala fundraiser is scheduled for the evening of March 5 at the Roundhouse. At the fundraiser, you'll get to enjoy a number of performances and preview the month-long exhibition of "mixed media painting, sculpture and photography, all somehow connected with the theme Leap!"

Dance companies from around the world will be presented, including those with traditional programs, cabaret, and late-night performances. For more information, check www.vidf.ca.
