Vancouver Has 4th Highest Robbery Rate in Canada

Turns out that our town is a little more dangerous than I thought. A recent report was released listing Canada's mos dangerous cities and Vancouver came out as ninth. Furthermore, Vancouver was ranked with the 4th highest rate in Canada for robbery. But it doesn't stop there.

Five of the top ten most dangerous cities in Canada are right here in British Columbia. The highest ranked BC city is New Westminster (6th), which also has Canada's 3rd highest rate for homicide. The other cities making the list include Vancouver (9th), Burnaby (13th), Surrey (14th) and Abbotsford (20th).

"I was so pleased. It speaks volumes," said Surrey mayor Dianne Watts. "We were behind Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and Victoria."

The most dangerous Canadian city, according to this Maclean's report, is Regina, Saskatchewan.
