Vancouver Canucks Hire Scott Mellanby as Consultant

And let the transformation of the Vancouver Canucks begin! In what will likely be the first of many moves by new general manager Mike Gillis, the Vancouver Canucks have hired former NHL player Scott Mellanby as a consultant. Mellanby will work closely with the general manager and hockey operations departments to help develop this team into a real Stanley Cup contender.

Having played 20 years in the NHL with five different teams, Scott Mellanby will be assisting Mike Gillis in all areas related to hockey operations with particular attention being paid to professional player personnel.

"We are pleased that Scott has agreed to join our hockey operations department, his experiences in our league over two decades as a player will be a great asset to me and our entire department," said Gillis. "Scott displayed strong leadership skills and character throughout his NHL career; these are the same qualities we are looking for as we build our team."
