Vancouver Athlete to Carry Canada's Flag at Beijing Paralympics

Vancouver swimmer Donovan Tildesley will carry Canada's flag at the opening ceremonies of the Paralympic Games this Saturday in Beijing.

Tildesley, who is blind, is competing in his third Paralympics. He won two silver medals and two bronze medals at the Athens Paralympic Games in 2004. The 24-year-old also holds the world record for the men's 800-metre and 1,500-metre freestyle in the S11 category.

There are 143 Canadian athletes participating in the Paralympics, which happen September 6 to 17. You can catch the Paralympics on CBC or at CBC.ca.
