Trevor Linden Will Be Back!

trevorlinden.JPG

Without a doubt, Trevor Linden is Mr. Canuck. He's the only surviving member from the Vancouver Canucks squad that was a part of the whole yellow-and-red downward skate era. Although he had a stint through the East where he played for Montreal, Washington, and the Islanders, Trevor Linden has spent the majority of his professional hockey career right here in Vancouver. And even when he retires, I'm sure the organization will have a place for him in the back office.

And now we have assurance that Trevor will be back for at least another season, because he has come to terms with the Canucks, signing a new contract! Details of the agreement have not been released, but it's good to know that he'll be back. Sure, he only put up 12 goals and 13 assists in 80 games last year, but any die-hard Canuck fan will know that Linden is the backbone of this team. Welcome back Trevor!

On a related note, the Canucks will be unveiling their new home and away jerseys on August 29th. Is there a new logo on the way? (The Washington Capitals, San Jose Sharks, and the Columbus Blue Jackets all have new logos for the 2007/08 season.)
