Tonight's Fireworks Finale Features Extra BC150 Show

Tonight's Celebration of Light Grand Finale will feature an eight-minute fireworks display put on by the BC150 program before the main show begins.

According to BC150, the show will be "a combination of fireworks, storytelling, music and soundscape that celebrates the 150th Anniversary of the founding of the Crown Colony of British Columbia."

The themes will include Aboriginal history, the gold rush, and the diversity of the people who built BC and keep it strong today.

"The Province of B.C., through BC150, is a proud sponsor of the grand finale of The HSBC Celebration of Light," said Tourism, Culture and the Arts Minister Bill Bennett in a press release. "The unique combination of fireworks, storytelling and music will bring our rich history to life for British Columbians of all ages at this fun and family oriented event.”

The show begins at 10 p.m. at English Bay, followed by the Celebration of Light Grand Finale.
