Theatre Under the Stars 2008 Season Starts on Wednesday

Theatre Under the Stars is an annual tradition in Vancouver, where musicals are performed at the Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park. This year, the musicals to be performed are Jesus Christ Superstar and Annie Get Your Gun. The plays run on alternating nights through to August 16, starting with Jesus Christ Superstar this Wednesday.

All shows start at 8 p.m., except on nights when the Celebration of Light fireworks are on. Those nights, the performances start at 7, to allow time for audience members to walk to English Bay and see the fireworks displays. On August 2 and 9, there are matinées at 2 p.m.

Tickets for general seating are $31 for adults, $29 for kids 5-15, and $29 for groups of 10 or more. Kids under 5 are free.

For reserved seating, tickets are $36 for adults, $34 for kids and groups.

There are half-price shows on July 14 and 21 at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the door two hours before showtime, or through Tickets Tonight.
