The $3 Dinout Price Increase

dovshrimp.jpg

As the credit crisis and international recession continues to exert its effects on a lot of people, many of us are looking for ways to save money. The Dine Out Vancouver promotion gives us a way to still enjoy some of the best restaurants in Vancouver at a more affordable price. Yes, you could stay home and cook yourself, but you do have to spoil yourself from time to time too.

You may have noticed that this year's Dine Out is a little different than the ones in previous years. Last year, the three-course menus were priced at $15, $25, or $35, depending on the eatery of your choosing, but there has been an across-the-board price increase by three dollars.

This bumps the menu prices to $18, $28, and $38. Realistically, three dollars isn't going to make or break the deal for most folks, but it's the psychological effect. Couldn't the restaurants simply adjust their menus rather than increase the price? How do you feel about the $3 hike? Does it leave a sour taste in your mouth or are you taking it all in stride?
