Sweet drinks at the Granville Room

11250.jpg

The Granville Room (957 Granville St.) is a must for any serious Vancouver cocktail-lover. With an extensive cocktail list featuring unusual ingredients like absinthe and egg white, it's not your every-day martini list.

My visit to the Granville Room was for cocktails only, so I can't comment on the food. But I can tell you the atmosphere is worth the visit. On a Friday night, I stopped into a busy pub on Granville, just to walk out again 2 minutes later after finding the room too loud for stimulating conversation. From there, I went to the Granville Room, and the sweet, low music and dark room punctuated by candles and low-wattage chandeliers won me over right away. The Sweet Guinevere cocktail with the aforementioned absinthe was just the finishing touch.
