Stormtech Clothes the Needy This Winter

Stormtech Performance Apparel is based out of Vancouver and they have partnered up with Union Gospel Mission this holiday season. UGM provides food, shelter and counseling to many people who have found themselves in less than ideal situations, many of whom are quite cold and wet this winter.

Stormtech donated 3,000 jackets last winter, but many of these ended up in Vancouver's underground economy, being swapped for drug money or other items. This year, Stormtech is "only" donating 1,000 jackets -- each valued at about $100 -- but they will be distributed 100 at a time at each of the various UGM locations by UGM staff. This way, the staff can keep track of who has received a jacket, ensuring that they end up in the right hands.

However it works out, it's clear that Stormtech has their heart and intentions in the right place. Don't forget to give back to your community during the holidays.
