Spice Girls: The Show Must Go On

spicegirls-dec2.jpg

About a week or two ago, I heard on the radio that the Spice Girls show in Vancouver might be canceled. This is because the girl band was invited by the Queen of England to perform in front of the royal family on December 3rd. Seeing how their Vancouver show was scheduled for December 2nd, it would mean that Scary, Ginger, Sporty, Posh, and Baby Spice would need to be on a plan directly following their concert, prepping to perform mere hours later in front of the Queen. Even then, they might not make it on time.

I haven't heard an update on the situation, but it looks like that December 2nd performance at GM Place is still totally on and for anyone who grew up in the 90s, the Spice Girls' show should be a huge event for the city. After all, they're kicking off their worldwide tour here, so that makes Vancouver pretty special.

On a side note, the Spice Girls note that this tour is not "marking a new chapter" in their careers but is rather "more of a final bow to celebrate a career that saw the group sell more than 55 million albums and rack up 10. No. 1 singles."
