Seek the Peak Relay at Grouse Mountain on Sunday

01NGbg10lS.jpgThe fifth annual Seek the Peak relay happens at Grouse Mountain on Sunday, and there's still time to register for this special event. All funds raised from Seek the Peak benefit Rethink Breast Cancer, which provides innovative education, research and support programs for young people dealing with breast cancer.

Last year there were almost 500 participants, and to date Seek the Peak has raised $110,000 for Rethink Breast Cancer.

Participants start on the beach at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver, work their way through North Vancouver, then head up the Grouse Grind. You can tackle the whole course yourself (if you're crazy!), as a team (all going together -- still sounds crazy to me), or as a relay (for us mere mortals).

There are prizes for fastest overall male & female, top 3 male and top 3 female in each age category (under 20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+), top team in each category, and top Relay team in each category. But the most important part is the contribution participants are making to the fight against breast cancer.

Check-in on race day starts at 6:30 a.m. at Ambleside Park in West Vancouver. You can park your car on the mountain and catch a shuttle back down to the start.

You can learn more, or register, on Grouse Mountain's web site here.
