Salomon Rayek Succeeds David Emerson in Vancouver-Kingsway

rayek.jpg

David Emerson was quite the controversial MP, jumping from one party to another after being elected a few years ago. He has already stated that he will not be running for re-election in the upcoming election this fall, so who will succeed him as the Conservative representative in the Vancouver-Kingsway riding?

That news was announced over the weekend with Salomon Rayek taking on the task of representing the Conservative Party in the Vancouver-Kngsway riding. He is the president of the Conservative's Delta-Richmond East constituency association and he has also sought the party's nomination in Burnaby-Douglas.

Rayek will have an uphill battle ahead of him, as Vancouver-Kingsway has traditionally been a Liberal riding since 1997. Indeed, they voted Liberal in the last election. It just so happened that Emerson changed parties.
