Roberto Luongo Wears the "C" After All

luongowithc.jpg

Vancouver Canucks' goaltender Roberto Luongo also happens to be the team's captain, but the league will not allow him to wear the "C" on his jersey. That doesn't mean that Bobby Lu is going to be missing out on the "C" action altogether, as evidenced by the gear that he wore in Sunday's game against the Anaheim Ducks. Yes, they may have lost in overtime, but there was something pretty notable on the head of Luongo.

While he can't have the "C" on his jersey, Roberto Luongo was sporting a "C" on his helmet instead. "It can stand for whatever he wants it to stand for," said Vancouver general manager Mike Gillis. That said, the dark blue C sports the same font and style as the C that would be stitched onto the jersey of the Vancouver Canucks' team captain.

Are they sticking it to the league or are they simply being creative?
