Ride Your Bike to the Fireworks and Get Free Valet Parking

If you've ever been to the Celebration of Light fireworks (and if you haven't, why not?), you know that the West End is an utter disaster on fireworks nights. Pedestrian traffic is massive, and vehicle traffic is outright blocked off in many areas.

As an alternative to trying to get a car into the West End, people have been riding bikes to the fireworks for years. But with lockup space at a premium, riders may have ended up stuck carting their bikes around all night.

That's why this year, there is free bike valet parking at the fireworks.

BEST (Better Environmentally Sound Transportation) will be responsible for the bike valet. All you need to do to take advantage of the free service is give your bike to a valet attendant, and give them your name and phone number. They'll give you valet ticket, and at the end of the fireworks, just present you ticket back to the attendant and collect your bike.

The bike valet will operate from 5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. on July 23, July 26, July 30, and Aug 2 at the tennis courts below South Lagoon Drive near the Lost Lagoon Nature House in Stanley Park, and the tennis courts
at Kits Beach (adjacent to Arbutus Street). The bike valet is funded by the City of Vancouver.
