Rex McLennan Steps Down as 2010 Finance Boss

The exact details have not yet been released, but Rex McLennan has officially stepped down from his post as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Vancouver Olympic Organizing Committee. He has only been in this position for 18 months, and no specific reasons were cited for his leaving the CFO job behind. They only said that he will be returning to the mining industry.

VANOC CEO John Furlong announced McLennan's departure yesterday, saying that the decision was "mutual."

McLennan was hired to develop VANOC's business plan and risk management framework, which were completed earlier this year and released in May. McLennan is being replaced by John McLaughlin, who helped create the original financial plan when Vancouver bid for the Games.
