Retiring Trevor Linden's Jersey

linden16.jpg

Arguably the most beloved Vancouver Canuck of all-time (some may argue that the title goes to Stan Smyl, but let's set that aside for the moment), Trevor Linden finally decided to hang up his skates for the last time and he will not be returning to the squad in a player capacity this fall. Even though this is only his first year of retirement, Trevor Linden will be getting his jersey retired this year.

"Retiring a player's sweater is one of the highest honours a club can pay to its most elite players and ambassadors," said Chris Zimmerman, President and CEO, Canucks Sports & Entertainment. "Trevor embodies the qualities we strive for as an organization; character, hard working, commitment, generous and loyal. We are proud that his sweater will hang beside Stan Smyl's at General Motors Place."

The sweater retiring ceremony will take place on December 17th in GM Place. The Canucks play the Edmonon Oilers on "Trevor Linden Night."
