You know how residents of the PNE area tend to cash in during the last two weeks of August by selling some parking spaces for the annual fair visitors? A similar kind of phenomenon is happening in preparation for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, but it's on a much grander scale. Instead of charging people $20 for parking, homeowners are renting out their homes for quite the pretty penny.
A two bedroom condo in Yaletwon will cost about $36,000 for the month of February 2010. This will provide good access to the downtown venues. If you have more people and don't mind a bit of a commute, a property in New Westminster is being listed at $45,000 and it has enough room for 12 people. For more luxury, the posh homes in West Vancouver are going for up to $4,000 a night.
The Richmond home pictured here is that of Chris Dyck. He has his house listed at $30,000 for during the 2010 Olympics. Who said the housing bubble was about to burst?
