Region-Wide Phone Book for Metro Vancouver

phonebook.jpg

Five years ago, SuperPages decided to slice up the phone book that offered numbers for the greater Vancouver area. Instead of having a single phonebook for the entire area, we were offered five regional phonebooks. What this meant was that if you lived in Coquitlam, you couldn't just grab the phonebook that got delivered to you each year to find a phone number in Richmond. This was a pain, to be sure, and it proved to be a very unpopular decision.

The Yellow Pages Group -- which handles phone books for Metro Vancouver these days -- has finally decided to reverse that decision, going back to the old ways of having one fat phone book for the entire region. This is for all of the residential phone numbers and it will now be available in a single directory. No more having to call directory assistance every time you need a number in Maple Ridge, White Rock, or North Vancouver.

As I recall, there is another phone book that not only offers all the numbers in Metro Vancouver, but also all of British Columbia, Canada, and even the world. What was it called again? Oh right... the Internet.
