Pricing Announced for 2010 Winter Olympic Tickets

winterolympics-ski.jpg

If you've been wondering how full your penny jar will need to be in order to purchase tickets to the men's hockey final at the 2010 Winter Olympics, you at least now have a rough range that you can expect. Pricing guidelines have been released for the upcoming Olympic Games and they say that the pricing structure is based on prior Olympic games like the one most recently held in Torino, Italy.

All in all, about 1.6 million tickets will be available with half costing $100 or less. 50,000 tickets will be distributed to "low-income patrons", but you also have to realize that just having the cash won't guarantee you a ticket. There will be a lottery system in place when the tickets go on sale on October 11, 2008.

For the opening and closing ceremonies, ticket prices will range from $175 to $1100, whereas tickets to the gold medal men's hockey game will start at $350, going all the way up to $775.
