Only a few more days to check out the farmyard and miniature train

It must be true that summer's come to an end -- the Children's Farmyard and Miniature Train at Stanley Park are getting ready to close up for the season. But if you haven't made it to these two local kids' favourite spots this year, you still have a few more chances. Both are open daily until Monday, then 11am - 4pm, weather permitting, for the next two weekends (until Sept. 14).

The Children's Farmyard takes up over one acre of land, and is home to over 200 animals, birds, and reptiles, including small farm animals like sheep, goats, and potbellied pigs, who have run of the farm and can be pet by the children who visit them.

The Miniature Train, which carries over 200,000 passengers per year, winds along 1.25 miles of track, over trestles and through tunnels in the forest. One of the engines is a replica of Canadian Pacific Railway #374, which pulled Canada's first transcontinental passenger train into Vancouver in the late 1880s.

So head on down to Stanley Park and check them out! You can find a PDF map of all the attractions in Stanley Park here.
