Olympic Celebration in Chinatown Aug. 9 and 10

The Olympic Games kick off in Beijing on August 9, but you can feel like you're part of the action right here in Vancouver by attending the Olympic Celebration in Chinatown.

The free two-day 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games Celebration will take place on Keefer Street in Chinatown, and will feature CBC personalities, Olympians, Paralympians, and a giant outdoor screen broadcasting the opening ceremonies and Olympic competition.

The Olympic Celebration happens August 9 from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. (with the opening ceremonies broadcast starting at 2:30) and August 10 12 noon – 6 p.m. The entrance to the celebration is at the junction of Keefer Street and Columbia Street in Chinatown.

You can learn more about this free celebration on the City of Vancouver's web site here.
