No More Pets On Board Air Canada Planes

petonplane.jpg

If you plan on traveling with Fido or Whiskers, you may soon need to find yourself a different airline because beginning on July 15 of this year, Air Canada will "no longer allow passengers to take pets along, even if the animals are placed in the baggage compartment."

Is this really the best business move? After all, Air Canada has effectively shunned just about every pet owner out there who does not want to leave their favorite family member with some shelter for boarding services. It's unclear, however, whether other airlines will begin to follow suit.

The rationale that Air Canada provides is that they had to make a choice between providing more luggage space for passengers and continuing to allow pets on their planes. They obviously opted for the former.

I've never traveled with my pet before, preferring to leave him under my parents' care in my absence, but I can see how this can cause quite a headache for future Air Canada passengers.
