No Luongo Between the Pipes

The Vancouver Canucks may be sitting on top of the Northwest Division for now, but they would certainly love to have their captain back in the lineup to help them through some of the tougher games on their schedule. Unfortunately for hockey fans in Vancouver, we won't be seeing Roberto Luongo suit up for some time yet.

The superstar goalie spoke to the media yesterday, saying that his injury is still preventing him from seeing any game time and he won't be back in the lineup until he feels 100 percent. He said that if it were up to him, he'd start playing again tomorrow, but his body just won't let that happen. For now, the groin injury has him on a week-to-week basis.

"It wasn't feeling like it was supposed to be feeling so I made a decision not to continue to practice because I didn't want to make (my groin) worse," said Luongo. "It's tough to say with injuries, especially for myself. This is the first time I've dealt with a groin injury and just when I thought I was ready to get back into it my groin was telling me something else."
