No Greyhounds Due to Crazy Weather

greyhoundsnow.jpg

If you don't absolutely have to go outside today, it's probably in your best interest to stay indoors. It's not that it's particularly cold outside, but when the snow is higher than your hip, traveling anywhere will be a pretty big pain. We've already heard all sorts of horror stories coming out of the Vancouver International Airport and the TransLink buses are experiencing all sorts of delays and shortages as well.

Not surprisingly, one of the most popular bus lines is temporarily suspending its services as well. Yesterday, Greyhound announced that all buses leaving from the Vancouver terminal at Main and Terminal will be temporarily grounded due to the dangerous winter weather. If you hoping to hop on a bus to the BC Interior, the Island, or just about anywhere, you may need to rearrange your travel plans.

Spokeswoman Abby Warmbaugh of Greyhound says that the bus line will continue to "monitor it until it is safe for our drivers to be on the road." Exactly when that happens is still very much up in the air. The bus routes have not been cancelled, only suspended until further notice.

Pictured here is a Greyhound bus from 2007 near Hope. I guess they don't want a repeat performance this year.
