Next Monopoly Game To Feature Vancouver?

monopolyman.jpg

You can make it happen!

Hasbro is working on a new version of the popular real estate game that will feature a number of international cities instead of generic locations like B&O Railroad and Baltic Avenue. Monopoly Here & Now: World Edition isn't going to be created wholly without customer input either; quite the contrary, because you can actually vote on which cities will be included in the new board game.

Among the 68 nominated cities, three of them are Canadian -- Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver -- and you can vote for up to ten cities each and every day at monopolyworldvote.com. There is clear European emphasis on the cities pre-selected, including places like Ediburgh, Paris, and Amsterdam, but you can also vote for other international cities like Hong Kong, Melbourne, and Buenos Aires.

Monopoly Here & Now: World Edition will be launched this fall and voting ends on February 28th with the top 20 world cities getting a precious spot on the game board. The city with the most votes -- there are "wildcard" write-in spots available too -- will become the highest rent property, with values decreasing from there as you go down the list.
