Music Waste Festival Kicks Off Next Month

musicwaste.jpg

No that's not a typo, it really is music waste, but it has nothing to do with going green or reducing our carbon footprint. Instead, the Music Waste festival was originally conceived as a protest to the more corporate New Music West festival and its relatively high entry fees.

By contrast, the 14th annual New Music Waste charges you just five bucks to attend any given show. If you really want to splurge, you can opt for a full festival pass for just $15. This gets you into any show over the course of the week-long music festival. There will be more than 60 acts in all, most of which independent and up-and-coming artists.

The Music Waste Festival can be enjoyed at six different venues between June 4 and June 8.

Hey folks, just thought I might point out that the first line of the second paragraph reads, "By contrast, the 14th annual New Music West charges you just five bucks..." But I think you meant Music Waste. Cheers, and hope you enjoy the fest.
