More Problems on BC Ferries

The Queen of Oak Bay, which runs between Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay near Nanaimo, is out of service until further notice due to a major sewage backup in one of the men's washrooms. After a couple of cancellations this morning, the Queen of Cowichan will take over the rest of the day's sailings starting in just a few minutes with the 12:55 run from Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay.

There is no word yet on how long the Queen of Oak Bay will be out of service.

Passengers who had reservations on the canceled sailings will not get refunds -- and they're stuck in line with everyone else. They will get priority on the first available sailings.
