Millionaire's Marriage Auditions Scheduled From Thursday - Saturday

Is this just a big public relations stunt or is there really a tall, dark, rich and handsome Vancouver multi-millionaire looking for a bride? If you have a burning desire to find out for yourself, matchmaker Janis Spindel will be at the Sutton Place Hotel from tomorrow through Saturday interviewing women with marriage potential for the mysterious widowed Vancouver man. We still don't much about Mr. X, other than he is in his 40s, is widowed, and has an 8-year old daughter.

What bothers me most about this event is that Janis has insisted that all would-be applicants must first buy her book and fill out a questionnaire from the book, and then applicants must additionally pay a $25 processing fee in order to enter this marriage competition. You are essentially paying upwards of $40 to apply for an audition to marry someone you know absolutely nothing about. Maybe 'Mr. X' is a great catch, but this strikes me as being a less than wholesome way of going about finding a genuine Mrs. Right.

Good luck to all Vancouver gals who enter. I sincerely hope he's really worth it!
