Mellencamp Rocks Pacific Coliseum, Spouts Political Message

mellencamp.jpg

I still remember when people called him John "Cougar" Mellencamp. The popular rock star has been around for quite some time now, but he's just as relevant today as he has ever been. This was clearly demonstrated at Mellencamp's concert at the Pacific Coliseum last night, a venue where "women in their 20s danced and sang alongside men in their 40s. Everyone knew the words to the big hits and pretty much everyone cheered with each jab Mellencamp took at President George W. Bush or his fellow Republicans."

John Mellencamp has always been politically outspoken, so it was to be expected that he would use his concert to further proclaim his political views. This comes after he requested that his song stop being played at John McCain rallies. This put Mellencamp on the Republican blacklist, but it's clear that John has no problem with that... and neither do his fans.

He's as popular than ever and although he may not have all that many Republicans as fans, John Mellencamp is being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in less than a month.
