Mayor Sam Sullivan Gets Trashed by Protesters

mayortrash.jpg

This garbage strike is starting to get out of hand. There's trash everywhere, floating around on our city streets and giving tourists a very poor impression of the town that's set to host the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. People have become so upset over the strike that poverty activists paid Mayor Sam Sullivan a visit this morning, dumping off several bags of garbage in front of the Mayor's condominium building.

Five overflowing grocery carts full of garbage have been tossed to the front door of the Mayor's Yaletown apartment and the Anti-Poverty Committee has claimed responsibility for the act. It's not quite the same as leaving a flaming bag of doggie doo-doo, but it probably smells just as bad (and it leaves quite a different message).
