Luongo Almost Ready

luongoinjury.jpg

Despite missing their superstar goalie for some time now, the Vancouver Canucks have managed to remain competitive in the National Hockey League. The recent acquisition of Mats Sundin probably helps a little, but the addition of Jason LaBarbera from the LA Kings probably helped Curtis Sanford more than anything.

Well, it seems that the goalie situation is about to get a little better by getting a little more complicated. Roberto Luongo returned to practice yesterday, being declared as being back to 100 percent. Could this mean that he'll start between the pipes tonight against the Devils? We're not sure. This is after two months and 23 games off the ice, after all.

What is clear is that the goalie situation is now a little crowded in Vancouver. With three goalies under their belt, in addition to Corey Schneider in the minors, we have to ask whether it'll be Sanford or LaBarbera who'll be given the old heave-ho.
