Lumiere's Executive Chef is Daniel Boulud

DanielBoulud.jpg

Ever since Rob Feenie got ousted from Feenie's and Lumiere, people have been wondering what would become of the two restaurants that have come to be known as two of the best in the city. Manjy Sidoo (along with David Sidoo) and Rob Feenie weren't exactly on the best of terms when Feenie, who know works at Cactus Club, left the restaurants on West Broadway. Who would run the kitchen now?

It has now been announced that Daniel Boulud of New York will be both a business partner and the executive chef at Lumiere restaurant in Vancouver. Daniel Boulud currently owns six restaurants in the United States and his partnership with the Sidoos represents his first official foray into Canada. Feenie's, which operates next door to Lumiere, will be converted to DB Bistro Moderne and it will also be run by Boulud.

As can be expected, the business owners want to completely eliminate Rob Feenie from the "new" restaurants. Feenie's is set to close on March 20th, reopening as DB Bistro Moderne in July. Lumiere will close for renovations at the end of April, reopening about two months later.
