Linden's Jersey Retires Tonight

lindenjersey.jpg

Arguably the best and most loved Vancouver Canuck of all-time, Trevor Linden will be getting a little extra love tonight before the Northwest Division-leading Vancouver Canucks face off against the Edmonton Oilers tonight at GM Place.

The former team captain has hung up his skates for good, but tonight, his jersey will rise to the rafters and be hung in General Motors Place. Yup, it's Trevor Linden night and his #16 is being retired. Trevor Linden is joining some rather exclusive company, because his jersey is only the second one to be retired by the team. The first, of course, is the Number 12 worn by Stan Smyl.

Linden was the youngest captain in team history, became known as the iron man in the NHL, and he was a treasured member of the Vancouver community, working closely with many charitable organizations including Canuck Place. Congrats, Trevor. You deserve it.
