iPhone 3G Arrives in Vancouver

Canadians have been waiting for about a year for this day. When the original Apple iPhone arrived in the United States, Canadians were left out in the cold. We were left without multi-touch cell phones and tilt sensors. Even though Rogers may have faced some rather nasty backlash over the poor quality of their iPhone plans, a collective sigh of relief was enjoyed when Rogers said that they'd let you have 6GB of data for $30.

To get the real iPhone experience, you'll still need to fork out in the neighborhood of $80 a month for service, but it's the iPhone 3G. And that's enough to get people to line up around the block. There were about 150 people camping outside the Rogers store on Arbutus and Broadway this morning. I can't imagine all of them walking away happy with a new phone in their hands.

If you were one of the lucky ones and don't want to bother with the instruction manual, check out the video walkthrough below. It's lengthy, but it looks pretty helpful.
