Incura Wins CFOX Vancouver Seeds 2008 Contest

Last night, the top 5 finishers from CFOX's annual Seeds of Vancouver competition rocked a sold-out show at the Commodore.

The bands, in order of appearance, were Innocent Bystander, Versus the Nothing, Jordan Carrier, Incura, and Cold Driven. My money was on Jordan Carrier, whose fun and funky music was the only dancable set of the night. But, of course, I didn't get to choose the winner, so the platinum award went to heavy-emo-rockers Incura.

They've won a handful of great prizes, but the most important part of the prize package is an opening spot at FoxFest at GM Place on August 30, where they're open for Sloan and Stone Temple Pilots. Tickets for FoxFest are on sale now at Ticketmaster.

Although maybe not the best "dance set", clearly the most innovative and fresh sound. Incura is a rare find, given time and the right direction they will make Vancouver and all of Canada proud.

CFOX is a ROCK station, so obviously dance music wasnt gonna win. jordan carrier was the worst set of the night, and any other band would have been a better winner. but i think incura was the best choice. - leah

Jordan's way BY FAR the best set, and he is fully capable of rockin'. I heard him pretty regularly on the FOX and his sound fit right in. Sorry CFOX, I change the station when Incura comes on.
