Great Indian Food at Maurya on Broadway

If you're in the mood for a nice Indian dining experience, but Vij's is out of your league, Maurya on Broadway is an excellent choice.

With a full page of vegetarian options, I had loads to choose from. I settled on the Smoked Eggplant Bharta, a creamy, tasty eggplant dish with tomatoes and peas. I opted to have it with rice, naan, and daal, all of which were very tasty as well, and the combination was excellent. For $12.95 plus $5.95 for the extras, I had enough leftover for lunch the next day.

My dining companion had the Jackfruit and Potato Curry ($13.95), and while it turned out he wasn't wild about jackfruit, he certainly polished off the potatoes and a healthy serving of the naan.

I will definitely be going back to Maurya. the room has a lovely feel -- large and airy, and the location right on Broadway is about as convenient as it gets. Check it out next time you're looking for a slightly upscale Indian night out.
