Five Must-Eats at PNE: Part 4

cara-apple.jpg

In these last three days, I've exposed you to the wonders of the mini-donut, the smoky flavour of the barbecue chicken, and the choice of toppings for your Whale Tale. Today, we take a quick jaunt over to the Playland side of things to find a classic carnival treat.

Some people may prefer candy apples, but when I'm looking for a sticky treat wrapped around something that's supposed to keep the doctor away, I'm much more inclined to pick up a caramel apple, particularly one with some extra goodness stuck on top. The picture above shows a caramel apple wrapped up in peanuts.

Yes, it's going to stick to your teeth. Yes, your mouth may hurt a little as you bite into it and attempt to remove the sticky goo from in between your teeth. But you know what? You're going to have a huge smile on your face the whole time. Just a quick word of warning, though, that a caramel apple is very sweet, so those who are a little sensitive to that kind of thing, you may be better off with a mini donut instead.
