Dave Nonis dropped as Canucks GM

Canucks GM Dave Nonis was fired by team owner Francesco Aquilini last night.

Nonis had one year left in his contract, but was an obvious target after the Canucks missed the playoffs in two of the last three years, a problem Aquilini called "not acceptable."

Is a shakeup of the core players next?
