viff-chinese.jpg

Wanna soak in some culture? The 26th Vancouver International Film Festival kicked off yesterday (September 27th) and runs until October 12th and as many as 24 Chinese films are scheduled to be screened at the festival.

As part of the VIFF, there is a China focus program called, appropriately enough, "China in the Spotlight" as part of the "Dragon and Tigers: the Cinemas of East Asia" section. Some of the most notable Chinese movies to be shown at the fest include: "The Sun Also Rises" by Jiang Wen, "Lust Caution" by Ang Lee, and "Lost in Beijing" by Li Yu.

A total of 333 movies from 75 countries will be screened over the course of the two week film festival. The total audience is expected to number over 150,000.
