Celebration of Light Fireworks Makes Another Comeback

celebration of light vancouver fireworks

It seems like an annual event, not the actual fireworks display, but the cancellation of this event. Much like Morris the Cat, the Celebration of Light continues to have 9 lives and perhaps more. After organizers announced the cancellation of this Summer's event due to lack of sponsorship several months ago, now comes word this morning that a new sponsor has stepped forward to ante up the shortfall.

While there has been no confirmation, if rumors are true, it appears the The Keg restaurant chain will fork over the estimated $400,000 that the Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society said they were missing to make the event work.

Needless to say this is great news for residents, visitors and local businesses. The Celebration of Light typically garners a live audience of approx. 400,000 people and gives local businesses an injection worth millions. In these difficult economic times, local businesses need all the help they can get, and it looks like they just got some, thanks to The Keg Steakhouse & Bar!
