Cake rocks the Vogue right out of beer

There were two questions on the mind of everyone at the Vogue on Tuesday night:

1. Why would a band that naturally inspires you to dance your heart out play the Vogue instead of the Commodore?
2. Did they really run out of beer?

Yes, Cake fans drank the Vogue right out of beer last night. Rumour was that by the end of the night there was no alcohol of any kind left in the building. I guess that's what happens when you're forced to sit in a cushy seat, wiggling as much as decorum allows while desperately wanting to break loose and embrace your inner dancing queen.

Still, all in all, it was a great show. Really, with Cake, how can you go wrong? Great music, great personalities, no set list, and a tree given away to the oldest member of the audience (who was a sprightly 57).

But Cake, please: next time, the Commodore! We Vancouverites just want to dance!
