Be Careful (and Patient) Out There

snowfall.jpg

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past week or so, you may have noticed that Vancouver has been blanketed in the white stuff. It's pretty out of the ordinary to find this much snow, or any snow at all for that matter, in Vancouver so early on in December. Growing up, seeing any snow in December would get my hopes up about getting the day off of school.

I'm not the only one who has been caught off guard with the sudden snowfall. Motorists can be found sliding off into ditches and into eachother with these super slick conditions, so for the sake of yourself and everyone else on the road, slow down. Be smart about it. If you happen to be half an hour late for work, your boss will understand... because he'll probably be an hour late.

The same can be said about people taking public transportation. Translink has found that many users are getting impatient with the somewhat slowed down service and they don't want to stand out in the cold waiting for the morning bus. Translink spokesperson Drew Snider reminds us to be prepare for these kinds of weather conditions, bundling up and being prepared for longer-than-usual waits.
