2010 Olympic Mascot Unveiling: November 27th

mascots.jpg

We already know that the Inukshuk will be the official logo for the 2010 Olympic Games, but we still don't know what the official mascot is going to look like. Are they going to stick with the Inukshuk and present us with some guy in a Gumby costume, or will they take a different direction altogether, perhaps giving us a beaver, a grizzly bear, or a whistling marmot?

Well, if you're as anxious as I am about finding out who will be the official 2010 Olympic mascot, you'll want to mark November 27th on your calendar, because that's the day that the Olympic Committee plans on unveiling the mascot to us. The event will not take place in Vancouver or Whistler, however. Instead, they plan on giving the world its first glimpse of our mascot... in Surrey.

The unveiling is scheduled to take place at the Bell Performing Arts Centre. VANOC hopes to capitalize on the Christmas shopping season, as many people will want plush toys and clothing featuring our olympic mascot. You also have to remember that there could be multiple mascots, as evidenced by next year's Beijing Games where they have five.
